What should I do if I cannot receive my e-visa before Vietnamese New Year holiday?

Question:
Hi,
I applied for e-visa via government website 2 days ago and today is the last day of 2018 before the Vietnam Immigration Department have 4 days off for weekend and New Year holiday. My flight departs from Dubai at 30 December 2018, what should I do if I cannot receive e-visa today?
Maria Da Silva

Answer:
Dear Maria Da Silva,
Thank you for your question regarding to Vietnam e-visa.
As you know, the Vietnam Immigration Department will have 4 days off (from 29 December 2018 until 1 January 2019 and back to work on 2 January 2019). As the result, all the visa application submitted during these days will be processed by 2 January 2019.
Since you applied for e-visa Vietnam via government website, we hope that you will receive it today (after 3 working days as the regulation of the Vietnam Immigration Department).
However, at the last days of 2018, the number of customers applying for e-visa for Vietnam may increase that causes a little delay in visa delivery. You should try to contact the Vietnam Immigration Department and check your mail box to make sure that the e-visa wasn’t sent to bulk mail. In case you don’t have any information from the Vietnam Immigration Department, you should try with alternatives option by applying for Vietnam visa on arrival.
Visa on arrival is available for the applicants during New Year holiday at www.visumvietnamonline.com. Please follow the instruction below to apply for urgent visa on arrival to replace your e-visa:
Step 1: Select the online application form at http://www.visumvietnamonline.com/apply-online/
Step 2: Review the visa application and make payment with your credit cards or PayPal;
Step 3: Receive visa approval letter sent to your email within 6 – 12 hours. You then print out the letter of approval and bring along with your passport, photo and stamping fee (25 USD for 1 month single entry visa or 50 USD for 1 month multiple entry visa);
Step 4: Upon arrival airport, you present all these paperwork to the immigration officers and pay the stamping fee then a visa will be stamped onto your passport.
We hope that the e-visa will arrive before your departure that you don’t have to use visa on arrival.
