How to get a Vietnam visa for Ukrainian citizens
Ukrainian citizens are required to obtain a visa before entering Vietnam. Currently, there are 3 ways to apply for a visa: Vietnam e-visa, visa on arrival, or through the Vietnam Embassy in Ukraine.
Who needs a Vietnam visa?
All Ukrainian citizens traveling to Vietnam for tourism, business, family visits, or study are required to obtain a visa. The only exception is for travelers transiting through a Vietnamese airport for fewer than 24 hours who remain within the international transit area. Those who have a direct flight to Phu Quoc Island and will NOT visit other mainland cities are eligible for 30 days Vietnam visa exemption.

3 ways Ukrainian citizens can get a Vietnam visa
1. Vietnam e-visa — recommended
The Vietnam e-visa is the fastest, most affordable, and most convenient option for Ukrainian citizens.
- Eligibility: All Ukrainian citizens are eligible to apply
- Validity: Up to 90 days, single or multiple entry
- Processing time: 3–5 working days (standard); as fast as 2 hours (emergency)
- Entry: Accepted at airports, land border crossings, and seaports
- Fee: Non-refundable
How to apply:
Step 1: Complete the online e-visa application form
Step 2: Upload your passport bio page and a recent portrait photo
Step 3: Pay the non-refundable visa fee online
Step 4: Receive your approved e-visa by email
Step 5: Print the e-visa and present it at check-in and upon arrival in Vietnam.
2. Visa on arrival (VOA)
The visa on arrival is a convenient option for Ukrainian citizens entering Vietnam by air only.
- Processing time: 2 working days (standard); as fast as 2 hours (emergency)
- Entry: Available at international airports only
- Note: A stamping fee is payable upon arrival at the airport
How to apply:

Step 3: Receive your visa approval letter issued by the Vietnam Immigration Department via email
Step 4: Present the approval letter at the landing visa counter upon arrival and pay the stamping fee in cash (25 USD for a single entry visa or 50 USD for a multiple entry visa)
3. Traditional visa application (visa applied at the nearest Vietnam Embassy)
Ukrainian citizens may also apply in person or by post through the Vietnam Embassy in Ukraine.
